White Obsession with Black Compliance
It has been three months since my last blog post. No reason for it other than I have been very busy with my podcast (which is a good thing).
I have been trying to process all that is going on. Attempting to understand why George Floyd is on trial for his own murder. Trying to understand why Daunte Wright resisted arrest and was killed, yet a white man who pulled his gun on cops and said he would shoot them then drove off without being pursued is still alive.
Trying to understand why it always comes back to “we should just comply” when even complying gets us killed.
It seems our melanin just drives people insane. I haven’t been able to put into words how I’m feeling, which is highly unusual for me.
So I’m going to let my writing comrade be my voice because her essay says what was buried under the profound pain in my spirit.
Here it is. And that’s all I have to say about that.
